At the YMCA of Kamloops, we understand the important roles that physical activity and mindfulness play in coping with stress and managing mental health. That’s why we have programs like Growing Mindfully, which helps support youth to be more active and learn healthy coping strategies.
Growing Mindfully is a free physical and mental wellness program for youth 8-12 years old, to help support youth to be more active and learn healthy coping strategies. This group consists of a mental wellness component where participants learn tools and strategies to work through difficult emotions and a physical activity component where children learn importance being active in a fun and supportive environment.
• Ages 8-12 years of age • No formal diagnosis is needed • All fitness levels welcome
• Opportunity to try a new physical activity and new mindfulness activity every week • Make new friends and have fun • Growing Mindfully is FREE; YMCA membership is not required • Participants receive a complimentary 9-week YMCA membership • Learn how to manage stress from experienced professionals in a safe environment
