As the largest not-for-profit provider of child care in Canada and with nearly 50 years of experience, YMCA BC Offers high-quality child care programs for infants, toddlers, preschool and school aged children. We understand that families have many demands and we believe that every child deserves a safe place to grow, which is why we offer a variety of options to meet every family's needs. We know that choosing child care is a big decision and that parents want to know that their child is safe and well cared for while having fun - that your child care is a place your child wants to go every day.
Our highly trained Early Childhood Educators partner with parents to support each child's development and provide families with the security of knowing their child is in a safe and nurturing environment during these formative years. YMCA Child Care is your child's home away from home.
YMCA Early Childhood Educators make play come alive with our YMCA Playing to Learn Curriculum in our infant and toddler care, group care and preschool programs. We want to be there every step of the way through your child's development, beginning with their most formative years. We know that the early years' seeds are fundamental in your child's future success. Our caring and experienced staff provide quality care to assure your child will learn, grow and thrive.
**YMCA BC has applied to the Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (CCFRI) to assist families with the cost of care. Therefore, we work at the fee benchmark set by the Province as part of the requirement. Below is the current cost of child care by age group, once the Child Care Fee Reduction has been applied.
Eligible families may be entitled to further fee reductions through the Affordable Child Care Benefit. To see if your family qualifies please visit https://www.myfamilyservices.gov.bc.ca/s/estimator
Families interested in YMCA Station Plaza or Riverside Care & Learning are invited to join the ongoing WAITLIST.
YMCA Parkcrest Application Process: To ensure a fair and transparent registration process, YMCA BC will open the PARKCREST LOTTERY FORM from June 9 at 9:00 a.m. to June 23, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.. During this period all families who complete the application form will be entered into a lottery, which will determine the registration order (License Pending) . To be eligible, children must be currently age eligible and ready to start care as soon as a spot has been offered. Families who are successful in the lottery will be notified by email only. Please ensure you are using an account you monitor often.
If the number of interested families exceed the number of available spaces, all remaining lottery applicants will be placed into a waiting list. Families who are seeking care after the lottery has closed are invited to join the primary YMCA BC Early Learning and School Age Care Waitlist that will be updated to include Parkcrest once the lottery has closed.

We are pleased to inform you that transportation services for before and after school care at the YMCA Riverside Care and Learning Centre may be provided by School District #58. Currently, the district is able to offer this bussing service within their existing operations, and as a result, there is no charge for this service to families. Please note that this transportation service will be reassessed annually.
This service must be arranged between the parent and the school district. YMCA BC is not part of the agreement. Staff will walk children to the bus stop at Riverside in the morning and sign them onto the bus and pick children up from the bus stop at the end of the day and sign them into our care.
Parents needing this service can register their child on the SD 58 website by opening the Parent/Students/Bus Information tab and then completing the Microsoft forms page. This must then go to the schools secretary and they will ensure that student has access as well as a bus pass. Parents must provide written permission for the YMCA to release your children to School District #58 bussing as an authorized pickup.
